Good Morning All,
Am going on holiday on Wednesday to sunny(?) Rhodes for a whole two weeks. As we have been twice before I was looking for "traditional presents" to take with me and give to some of the friends we have made since we have been going there.
Some wagg at work suggested taking a suitcase full of beer mats
as they can only get paper ones out there?
Are there any Greek exiles out there who can help????????
ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE BRILLIANT!
Thanking you all in anticipation :T :T :T :T :T :T

To Tunisia we always take lots of Petticoat Shortbread and jars of jam!0

I second the shortbread and the jam. Also tea bags / loose tea (maybe in a gift tin or get a brand specific to your region - eg. Yorkshire, Lancashire - Brits seem to be known for their tea-drinking), baked beans, pickled onions in jars.
Perhaps anything else which is a speciality of your region - eg. rock if you come from Blackpool, oat cakes etc.

adrianbrak, I've just noticed that you're located in Yorkshire. Yorkshire Tea do some nice gifts:

I go to Rhodes twice a year and stay with friends each time. I take bisto gravy granules as they are very expensive on rhodes. Garlic Puree coz they cant buy it, Coconut milk blocks and Green and Blacks chocolate because there is no better and its a lovely treat. Somebody suggested cadburys but as you know, you can buy that anywhere on Rhodes. Beermats I also do take out because my friend has a bar and thats right that they can only get cardboard ones for some strange reason. So they are like gold dust!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. The sort of things which are sold in National Trust shops go down well, not sure if it is the smell or the packaging! I took transformers toys for the son of a friend we made over a couple of visits to Crete, anda toy dragon for the toddler daughter (I'm in Wales), a special bottle of whiskey for him and some National Trust scented 'beads' in a dish for her plus a couple of rose and lavendar bath sachets.0

HP sauce might be a hit! (Or can you already get that over in Rhodes?) I remember hearing once that it was so popular in Russia - and so difficult to find - that they used to have a black market for it, back in the day.0
