Long Distance Christmas

Hi,
First posting, so please be gentle! My 22 year old daughter and a friend are going away in December. They are working and travelling for 8 months and going to be in Thailand for Christmas then moving on to Australia for 6 months and then on to New Zealand. Because she is backpacking, I need some help with small, lightweight pressies for Xmas. Will I be able to wrap them? I'm thinking about going through Customs

I wouldnt think you could wrap them, but why not see if her friend will take your pressies and her mum could ask your daughter to do the same?0

we did this for our son. each parent gives the other traveller the present showing them what it is, just in case at customs. Then they can say they know what it is and they do.
will think on ideas for a girl0 -
Lots of companies deliver just like they do in UK you could order anything from flowers, chocolates to new shoes from down under on net/ebay shops as long as you know a postal address for xmas date, for a little extra they will probably wrap it in xmas paper to.Some of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j0

A homemade voucher that entitles them to, perhaps, one return internal flight with Virgin Blue Airlines in Oz.
Do you know if they will be in Sydney and when? May be possible to book online a Sydney Harbour Bridge climb or a concert at the Opera House?
Sorry - misread your post - realise they will be in Thailand for Christmas!0 -
My OH and I are planning to go to New Zealand in February over my birthday and my siblings have all decided that instead of giving me presents they want to pay for an activity which I think is a brilliant idea. It's not the same as just giving money if you say this is for the waitomo caves or bungy jumping. Memorable experiences.odi et amo0

Sydney harbour bridge climb does gift vouchers,
dorothy perkins has loads of jewellery cheap at the moment, perfect for light presents and ace for jazzing up a daytime outfit for a night out!
if you're posting it just get the name of the hostel and you'll be able to find the address, then how about sending her some home comforts - her fave chocolate etc??
Lush do shampoo bars - which are space saving and don't leak!0 -

I can fantastically reccomend the bridge climb! IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! it costs about £75 sterling but you can give vouchers towards it - if you can push it for a night climb then that would be amazing!!!! im so jealous!!
