NHS Pay Bands and Pay Protection New Job

Hi folks,
I have an NHS job on band 6 and am at the top of the scale. I've just been appointed for a half day a week (one session) for the same Trust band 7. It's a different role, but related to that experience, but band 7 starts lower than band 6 (those of you familiar will know what I mean) i.e. there's an overlap of pay bands.
Am I entitled to start on a point in pay band 7 equiv to my band 6 salary? The new role was only available to those employed for at least one day a week (2 sessions) currently - which is probably neither here nor there.
Anyone from NHS HR be grateful for your knowledge. I shall consult HR at work on Monday but be helpful to know as I'm doing some sums for budgeting this weekend!!

Actually found it here:
http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/cgi-bin/doc_viewer.cgi?type=jpd&id=11612
"1.4 Staff promoted to a higher band within the NHS will enter the new pay band at the minimum of the band or the first incremental point of the new pay band that gives them an increase in salary. Initially staff will be paid on the minimum of the band until confirmation of previous salary has been received as in paragraph 1.1." etc etc0 -
I believe you are not just entitled to be put on the same point, but actually the one above, so you would earn more at that job pro-rata than the other.0

Many thanks, yes that's what it seems to say in the guidance.0

Just to echo what everyone else said I was near top of Band 5 and got a Band 6 job, I was put up an increment on my salary and not the bottom of band 6 so I would expect a small pay increase.0
