FCA regulations effective 26 October 2015 require financial services firms to use numbers starting 01, 02, 03 or 080 for contact by existing customers.

Premium rate numbers starting 084, 087 or 09 are not permitted.

Some firms didn't comply in time and are now having to refund their customers for any call charges incurred by them after that date.

Once such is Renault Finance who have an announcement on their website.

Other firms are subject to the same rules.

Check your phone bills for calls made after 26 October 2015 to any financial services company including banks, card companies and insurers on 084, 087 or 09 numbers, and get claiming.
