Hi there, not to sure which board to post in, hope this one is ok.
I left an employment nearly 2 years ago. Abrubtly and painfully, I was then on benefits due to the stress , depression and anxiety it caused. I started work again last feb ( and still with my current employer) and this morning i received a p45 from old firm with a date of 28/08/16. Earning zero pounds.
I cant/wont speak to them, and they are as vindictive and nasty as they come.
Why would I be getting this P45 now with the wrong date?
Any advice info would be gratefully received.
Thank you

Probably because they have only just got round to removing you from the payroll system.
Keep it on file but otherwise I would just ignore it.0 -
Is your current employer using the same tax code as is shown on that P45? If so, don't worry about it - as long as it isn't on a W1/M1 basis with your new employer.
If the tax codes are different, what are they?0 -
I can't see that the P45 has any relevance to you now given that you were with your current employer at the end of the last tax year, so even if your tax code was incorrect in February it should have been corrected by now.0
