Setting debt to rights

  • I've squeezed every single penny I could find out of my account this month to go towards paying off my debt, and reduced it by £279.79. This is before the £500 payment that goes out on the 25th after I get paid, for a whopping £779.79 off the debt in one month. Which is awesome, I know, but I'm still feeling frustrated about not being able to pay it off faster. I keep looking round my house for stuff to sell! Does anyone else feel the same way, even when they're doing awesome and keeping to plan? And how do I get over it?

I also have £77 sitting in my money pot, and I keep looking at it. Part of me wants to throw it straight onto the debt. The other part of me says I should use it for fun, because £77 only makes a negligible difference (2 weeks) to my estimated debt free date in May 2018.

Help, support, advice, wise words from anyone?
  • The first thing that jumps out re your soa is graze and the work canteen, surely spending 60-75 extra on your food budget and taking in your own food would be a better option. And perhaps it would be healthier to

Secondly bin experian there is free sites out there that you can view the same info ie clear score or noodle take a look.

I cancelled Credit Expert and Graze last week - part of the reason I've squeezed more money than usual.
  • And the 90 on the work canteen a month or as i would class it 2-3 weeks total food shopping?

Just my five penneth an extra say 50 in your monthly food budget packed lunches for work, fruit/sandwiches etc then an extra 40 off your credit card a month.

Menu planning is my absolute downfall and I know it! It's something I really need to work on.
