CSA Help please

7 Years ago the mother of my children died. I had already been bringing my son & daughter up on my own a couple of years before this and had an ongoing dispute with the CSA.
When their mother passed away I received a letter from the CSA stating that my case was closed. Perhaps they had some compassion after all?
I hadn't heard anything since until this week (7 years later) when I received a letter saying that the CSA is being replaced and that even though they stated that the case was closed they believe there is money owing on my case.
In the usual threatening manner they have informed me that they will be in contact soon to recover any outstanding debt.
I have no idea how much this is.
Can anyone help please? Can they do this?

  • Sorry for the loss of your children's Mother it must have been difficult.

If you always paid the assessed amount then there is unlikely to be any arrears.

If there were they would probably be payable to your ex's estate which presumably went to your children?

Stop worrying and wait to see if you hear anymore details.
