Hi Everyone,
Just a quick update.
I'm 6 months into my Maternity Leave and we're surviving on DH's wage and the pitiful statutory SMP. DH is having to do a ridiculous amount of overtime to see us through the winter he works at an airport and he was given a temporary promotion for the summer with wage rise but will probably drop back for the winter.
Thanks to my mum we're managing to keep up with our DMP with the CCCS, we've not had to reduce it - she's in control of our budget.
I managed this by converting our mortgage to interest only which has halved the payment - I will convert it back to repayment when I go back to work and switching our gas and electric supplier.
I've even been MSE when it comes to feeding my DD as I do it myself so it's free. When she goes onto solids I'm intending to make all of her food myself as it's better for her and cheaper.

Hi mdw. Congrats on your lovely newborn and well done you for tackling your debt head on. Well done for bf your baby, you will both reap the rewards if you can maintain it.
I'm glad you've got your mum for support, that's bound to be a great help.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
HI there- fantastic about keeping to the repayments despite the change in income.
And the pressure of a new baby too of course! You signed up for all the survey sites? mumsopinions often has lots of ones specific to under ones and might be useful for the vouchers coming up to xmas?

Hi there didn't meet up last time around. I hope that your OH doesn't have to keep on working hard for too much longer. Well done on the freebie feeding! Ref the going onto solids, one thing you can do is get the really ripe fruit at the end of a market. This usually goes cheap but is still ok. By the time you have pureed it, it will be great!.
Hope it all goes well
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
