Ladies hard wearing boots for work

I'm trying to find a pair of boots for work. I'm tired of spending £50 - £60 on a pair of boots from Clarks only for them to wear through the sole in 6 months time (or less). I also am looking for something a little stylish. Has anyone else had the same problem?

I do office work.
