Hi all,
I see where this Christmas will be bleak if I don't start planning from now. All cards and gift tags are sorted but my little one will be 2 just before Christmas and she is into sparkly things and I know she'd adore lights and tree and all those things. I refuse to pay more than £5 for 100 plain fair lights. Any ideas on where to find lights for cheap? I've never been to a boot sale, do things like these sell like hot cakes?
Any other tips on making this a great Christmas for a little one. I love art and craft but just too darn busy.

Hi kberry_78 I wouldnt advise buying fairy lights from a car boot - a friend of mine bought 3 sets last year and none of them worked. Unfortunately when she got home after buying them she didnt try them to see if they worked - so come december when she went to put up her decorations - she was cheesed off to say the least that she had 3 sets all duff
I bought some of ebay last year and they only cost me about £4 inc delivery so its worth keeping your eyes open for some on there or instores will have them soon and they are usually about 3.50 for 100 lights
Other things u could do for your little girl is instead of buying the traditional advent calender why not get some favour bags stitch a number on the front of each bag then put inside a little girly gift and hang them on the tree for her or put them all into a christmassy bowl ready for her to open each day and then each christmas you can reuse the bags over and over again.
You could use favour bags or boxes or anything u can think of.
Good luck I am sure whatever you do christmas will be magical for your little one

Um, habitat do fairy light type things. I am not sure how much they'd be, but I am sure they'd be around £5.
I have some lights from there which you can't put round a tree, but are battery powered, and you could put them on a shelf or something.
Oooh, just found from Argos - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2696735.htm - 100 Fairy Lights for £4.990
