Anyone with knowledge or experience of Civil Service interviews?
Have 6 competencies and I have good examples for the other 5 but am a bit stumped with this one, Delivering value for money.
I understand it is do with efficient and effective use of resources, I have the civil service competency framework. I also know about STAR method and have used that for my other examples. I'm just really struggling to think of a good example, probably overthinking at this stage...
So if anyone could point me in the right direction? I'd be so grateful.
Thanks :j

If you haven't already, this link provides "most likely to" behaviours:

I would probably pick one or two and incorporate it into an example.
"Challenge others appropriately where they see wastage"
- promoting the use of black ink over colored ink to save money? By putting up posters on the wall
- Noticing that a document is being printed off continuously so suggesting it be uploaded to the system and briefing colleagues on the location of it etc?
"Handle numbers confidently, collate information ensuring
accuracy of financial and performance data"
- Recognising that you have pre-defined KPIs in the company and how this impacts on the business. Using your own data to ensure that you hit the KPIs and identify trends and stuff? Maybe?
Just stuff like that maybe? Just some ideas.0 -
