  • I'd try mixing it with some blended fruit and just freezing it like that. I've often put pots of yogurt in the freezer and eaten them frozen, and it's never done me any harm lol. If you've got any lolly moulds then you could do it in there, so that you get a fruity yogurt lolly and you wouldn't have to worry about hacking a portion out of a big tub. Strawberries would be nice, or raspberries, or bananas, anything like that.
  • This doesn't quite answer your question, but is related and you might find it useful as it very low in fat:)

Chuck frozen berries or chunks of frozen fruit (bought or home frozen) in a food processor.

Add a little sweetener -sugar, artificial sweetener, honey, maple syrup, jam

Add a big spoonful of low fat dairy -yogurt, fromage frais, buttermilk

    Blend

Serve absolutely immediately -you can't freeze it as it goes rock hard. It's a good dinner party trick as it takes seconds to make and impresses.

A touch of alcohol is good too -cointreau or cassis for example

This idea is taken from the cookery writer Sue Kreitzman who has written many books on low fat cookery. Worth getting second hand from Amazon or in second hand bookshops.

You can freeze them. Just take them out 10 minutes before you want to eat so they have time to soften a bit.

350g Frozen fruit (mixed summer fruits in the freezer at Asda)
    200g Yogurt
    115g Strawberry jam
25g Icing sugar (could use Splenda)

    Blend and Freeze.

Has anybody tried frozen banana ? Does it work ?

It does work but you need 'nice' bananas to do it with - anything that's a bit under-ripe will taste nasty. I cut them in half, wrap them in clingfilm and freeze them. If you eat them frozen they do almost have an ice-creamy texture, and they make great lollies for children if you put them on a stick and dip them in some melted chocolate and hundreds and thousands.

Bananas don't thaw well though. I keep a bag in the freezer for over-ripe bananas and when I've got enough, I thaw them out and make banana cake. The frozen bananas work perfectly in cakes, but the texture of cold, thawed out banana has seriously got to be one of the nastiest things you will ever feel ...
