Can anyone recommend a removable fly screen?

Hi. I know it's a bit late in the season but we are being plagued with flies and more recently wasps in our house and was wondering if anyone can recommend a fly screen that can be quickly put up when I have the doors open then removed when I want to close them as opposed to permanent having a fly net up iyswim?
I used to have one of the ones from Aldi that you fixed a Velcro strip to the door frame and that was excellent but it only lasted a few seasons as we have a big dog that was constantly running through it and it kept getting pulled down. He's outgrown this habit so would prefer something like this again.
Any ideas where I would get one this time of year please?
Thanks in advance!

  • If you can't get it locally in the shops, you can certainly get on Amazon.
    Couple of examples:-

Used to use it on the outside of our door frames during the summer months, rather than inside, and just took it down over winter in the UK, leaving the velcro on the door frames. Don't think I could have been bothered faffing about putting it up and down every time I wanted to close the door.

You could make your own with plain curtain netting material and some velcro. I'm planning to do this for a pergola to try to keep out the mosquitoes and other biting insects.
  • Thank you Anne_Marie, I'll check these out.
I could never make my own curtains, I'm absolutely useless with anything like this, I couldn't even cut them straight. Anything with material gets me stumped every time, I could know them no problem :rotfl:
  • Your sewing must be on a par with my drawing!:p A friend used to say that if you could draw a straight line, you could draw anything....well, I need a ruler for a straight line. :o

Just a wee tip re the fly screens, if you are putting them on the outside of the door, would be better going for black or grey rather than white, unless you like to do a lot of washing. :rotfl:

Good thinking re colour of fly screen, can't imagine a white one would stay clean with my dogs and cats :rotfl:
