TSB Loan

Applied for a TSB loan today and they have asked me to call them to provide further details.
Has anyone gone through this process before? I'm not sure what kind of information they'd be looking for or what I need to be prepared for.

I've only ever applied for one loan once previously. It was with Sainsburys and I've repaid it early. (13 months into the 5 year loan).
I don't have any credit cards (kinda screwed up in the past by not applying for credit cards to build up credit history). This is something that I'm planning to change over the next 12 months.
I've never defaulted or missed any repayments.

I've been lucky enough to have a well paying job and can quite easily afford the monthly repayments. (Also would be looking to repay this loan early, within the next 18 months).

Appreciate any help/advice!

I recall having to phone them when I applied for a TSB loan years ago (probably 10 years ago now).

If memory serves, I think they wanted to know my salary and employment details.

    Oh thanks!
Salary and employment details should be okay.

Anyone else have more recent examples?
  • It probably means it's not being automatically accepted and they'll either need extra ID and/or details like salary/other income details and make sure it's definitely affordable.

Just phone them tomorrow and ask.

    It could be anything.
  • I called them up on Monday. Went through a phone application (using the same credit check record as the online application, as it was within 7 days).
Surprisingly, the process was quick and they gave the approval right away.
They didn't ask for any proofs (I'm guessing because the application wasn't referred).
Thanks all for the help :)
