Bankruptcy Help

Do I need to get a credit report from Experian to check I have listed all my creditors?

Just loathe to pay £14.99 for it :(

  • No you don't. Just list as many as you can remember. Bankruptcy means all provable debts are included in the BR whether they are written down or not.

  • This is what I don't understand about the BR, what debts are written off? What if someone contacts me in a year's time and says you owe us money from a debt that existed before the BR?

I have listed all the creditors to which I have paperwork for.
  • £2 for subject access request report, so £6 for all 3 (Experian, Equifax and Call Credit).

I'm no expert but as another person has mentioned....Just list the ones you can remember, if there is any that you have missed or maybe didnt even know about...dont worry, even if a creditor gets in contact a year later it still becomes part of your bankruptcy order and you will be covered......
  • don't worry, I'm sure one of the first things an OR would do is check your credit file to ensure all debts that qualify are listed in your bankruptcy

and it doesn't matter if they aren't anyway, because they are included anyway, or at least I mean they are covered by this bankruptcy, whether they are on the application form or not.
  • i just used Clearscore to check mine for free - no signup at all and its totally free and shows open and closed accounts and amounts owed etc.... worth a check maybe?
  • Just seen an Experian advert. They're doing it for free now too!
  • sorry to jump on this thread but when I checked clearscore yesterday my biggest debt that prompted my bankruptcy 5 days ago is listed as owing £0 where as a smaller debt included in my BR is still listed as the amount I owe(d) before getting my BR approved. The creditor wouldn't have wiped the balance already surely?
