Change of Address before Mortgage

Hello all,
We've just exchanged on our house sale, but after months of purchases falling through, we are moving in with family until we complete on a house of our own.
We had got a mortgage offer in place, but now because the house fell through and the property we're hoping to buy is less but needs work, they wont lend us as much.
We are going to look around for another lender who will (it's a question of about 7k) but is another credit check going to be detrimental to our chances? Also, because we're moving we don't have a "permanent address" - is that going to affect things? I can't imagine we're the only people who have done this!!!
We've no loans except my husband's student loan repayments of about £100 a month, no credit card. Our income is about 35k from my husband, and I'm a stay at home mum but I work occasional weekends, bringing in about 4k a year.
Thanks for any help.
