DPD Delivery

Hi, I couldn't really think of the best place to post this as It's about DPD (the delivery company).

Quite often when I buy something on Amazon they try once to deliver it to my house and if I'm out, they just send it back to the seller.

I've had a look at DPD's app and you can arrange to pick up your delivery from certain shops.

The app asks for my mobile number. Has anyone used this app? Do they call you on your mobile? I don't really want calls on my mobile.

They ask for your mobile number so as they can text you a hour timeslot on when your goods will be delivered, if you're collecting your goods from the depot i'd imagine they want your mobile number so as they can inform you of any changes.
DPD have my mobile number and have never rung me up, they only text me with a hour time slot of when my parcel will arrive.
