Abercrombie scam sites - Avoid

First post:beer: Sorry if I'm in the wrong section. If anyone is looking for A&F clothing, please, please avoid these websites at all cost. Both are selling fake goods out of China. The chances of getting a refund is nil as a friend of mine recently discovered. If anyone can tell me how/where to report them to an official source, I will

Sorry this doesn't help your friend, but I really wouldn't expect bradfordpistonsprings to be selling genuine branded clothing. Genuine springs for pistons maybe, but not clothes!!

I would also be a tad suspicious that a site called Hoodiehome uses the phrase "I Have Used Vibram Before" when it comes to entering account details.

The old phrase "If it sounds too good to be true..." is very apposite here, your friend needs to be a little bit more cautious when buying from the internet. The briefest investigation will find that their "About Shop" page starts

The dedicated Online website of The Abercrombie and Fitch UK Store.

Is it likely that is going to be true of a site called "Hoodiehome" not, say, abercrombieandfitch.co.uk?

If you dig deeper you'll find that Hoodiehome is registered to a "UK individual" meaning that if they are trading they are in breach of the rules for domain registration. Another common one to find is the registration address being in China (though this one has the address blocked completely) when the site gives the impression it is based in the UK - a legitimate company would not do this. These records can also show the date of registration and they are almost always very new, which would be odd for such an established brand. Check the sites out on www.who.is to get this info.

You are probably right, the money is lost but hopefully a lesson has been learned - there are hundreds of fake A&F sites out there including ones like the infamous:


The best thing your friend can do now is to inform A&F about this new website, as detailed on the legitimate website and try to stop other people being scammed.
