Anyone played the Scythe board game?

I hadn't heard of this but looked it up, it seems very interesting but I don't think it's out yet? At least it took me to a preorder page for October on the site I was on.

It said 1-5 players so you should be good to go .

It's on Amazon from 3 suppliers as in stock. Looks awesome, but at over £100, I might have to wait til after Xmas.

I've always been skeptical of area control games scaling that well but according to boardgamegeek 75% do recommend it as a 2 player....

Yes, this game does work 2 player - we love it!

It's received a mix reception as a whole, but I genuinely don't know how much of the negative or neutral feeling is explained by the astronomical levels of hype that surrounded this. I haven't played it, but I would imagine that there are far better two player options out there, unless of course you have specific, burning desire to play this two player.
