In crisis don't know where to start

OK, so I've applied for the Alliance & Leicester account as it will save me £75 a year in O/D charges, spoke to Virgin Media and they have some new offers coming out on Thursday so I have to ring back then. Good point about the £1700, I'll try and shuffle that up the line, and the resulting reduction on the skycard balance will motivate me to get at least one of them cleared and cut up. Also I spoke to the Virgin card people and got them to reduce my £12 charge for over credit by half. . .it's something. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Sorry, trying to address each point in turn . .no I don't have any more limit on the Ulster Card. And . . I don't think the controlled spending will be so hard if I keep the diary and give myself a wakeup call. I always have managed on budgets like this and less. Just a case of building up some emotional strength again. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Cool hon, Just work through it step by step and all of a sudden things will start to look brighter, and you'll feel much more optimistic. (promise)

Dear all,
I've been lurking on here but haven't posted for a good while and just wanted to update everyone who was so very kind to me.
Since this post I have taken myself in hand with all your good advice.
I now know that I have £12, 847 debt.
I've reshuffled all my credit cards so I'm paying as little interest as possible and am now managing to make my minimum repayments and live within my income.
I've registered with a nursing agency and once my references go through I'll be able to generate some extra income and start paying the little blighters off.
Hopefully all of this will be enough to keep the wolves from the door until my divorce is settled, when I should be able to pay everything off in full.
Really all I had to do was get through the emotional crisis of the separation and learn how to manage on one income when I was used to two. And now reality has bitten, it's not half as bad as I thought it would be!
I've still got a long way to go of course, but I'm much more motivated and positive, and I've learnt so much that when I finally have some savings, I'm gonna really make that money work for me!
I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year, you ALL deserve it,
and I hope you are all proud of your incredible kindness.
