Email us for advice
We are currently unable to accept any more emails as this service is very busy. If you need advice please call us on 0800 197 6026 or use web chat to speak to an adviser
Oh dear.. Will try to call them then0 -
Not that simple. Just because it's a limited company doesn't mean you can just close it and wipe your hands. If there has been impropriety by the directors, which it seems there has been by declared illegal dividends, HMRC has the power to pierce the limited liability shield and pursue you personally
You need to speak to your accountant for advice, they you need to speak to HMRC.
Will do, thanks. As I said I have no "assets" to speak of (no car no gadgets apart from an old TV, laptop and my mobile) at all an live in a rented place. Company or personal assets, same nothing.
I was an idiot going Ltd in the first place0 -
Hi
I agree with the suggestion of contacting Business Debtline for advice. You can webchat them if you can’t telephone.
As it says in the link from Muttipops, the Field Force officer cannot force entry into your home unless they obtain a specific warrant from court which rarely happens. For now don’t let them in, keep your doors locked and keep any vehicles you own well out of the way.

Well done to facing up to all of this, I appreciate it is not easy, but some people you can't hide from, such as HMRC.0

Actually HMRC are not ogres, and if they can be convinced that you are serious about this debt and taking steps to tackle it, you may well find them surprisingly sympathetic. It is in no one's interest for your business to go under.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
