After completion on a sale can the mortgage company request money from me.

I have recently completed on the sale of my flat, I have had a request from my old mortgage company to pay them for an underpayment at redemption. If this has to be paid please explain how the sale was completed at all.

    If you owe the money, it has to be paid.
    Thats a question for the lender/solicitor.
