Anyway to get refund or sell advance ticket Londonto Hayle

I bought my mum a return to Hayle Cornwall about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately she can no longer go away. She wants to be here to support my nan as a family member is terminally ill and detouriating quickly.
I booked through train line and it says on there that they are non refundable. Anyone know of any sites you can sell train tickets etc.

What type of tickets did you purchase, i.e. Advance (valid for booked train only) or a open return?0

If it's an Advance fare, you cannot get a refund but you can change it for a different date by paying a £10 admin fee (if you choose a more expensive train, then you need to pay the difference too)0

Officially no. I remember seeing a programme though where a woman broke her leg and held an advance ticket. I can't remember the full details, but she wrote to GWR (well, First Great Western, as it was) and got either vouchers or a refund I can't remember.
You've not really got much to lose by writing them a letter explaining the situation and enclosing the tickets (apart from the cost of an envelope):

And if you find someone willing to buy it -- I have never, ever, had my identity checked when on a train in the UK.0

Good idea, worth a try. Like you said nothing to lose. I got the tickets through train line should I go to them?Recently married and loving it x0 -

Official blurb says you should return them to the retailer you bought them from, but IMO I'd send them straight to GWR (trainline are more likely to just to quote the official line; they would need GWR to authorise any refund anyway).0 -
Just a tip for the future as well, Trainline charge booking fees. Use pretty much any other train website (e.g. Virgin Trains through Topcashback).0
