Hi I'm really not sure what to do I've been with my company for nearly 6 years & it was the best company I had worked for & I soon progressed up the ranks however I got to the position of operations manager & I have hated it from my 1st day where I have continuously looked for other jobs however my salary is 30k a year which isn't bad & for someone of my skill set & education it's quite good so any other jobs I have found the salary has been vastly a lot less. However I have found a way of making not far off what I'm on now but in a self employed roll which could be risky as I will be getting my work off of two other people & in affect have to do two jobs to earn what I'm on now. Basically my dilemma is do I quit a job that depresses me to the extent I'm nearly in tears on my way to work but it's a decent stable income or do I take the risk of going self employed which could back fire on me? At the moment my outgoings are quite minimal & my rent is low but I don't like to think of giving up a job that I have worked really hard for over the years & then possibly be struggling for money.

is there not any other jobs coming up at the place you work now. Could you talk to someone in HR
Im sure they would rather keep you or even have the chance to keep you if you are an asset to the company.
Self employed is a big step, it needs to be carefully considered before burning all your bridges.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I have spoken to my area manager but he has basically said they wouldn't be able to demote me & to be quite honest I have seen how them guys have been messed about I don't think I would want that. A big corporation has brought into us and it has changed everything all I can think about is leaving. And the reason they won't demote me is because there is nobody to replace me they have stripped back so much that there literally isn't anyone qualified enough in the company at my depot to replace me.0

Is the job beyond hope, or are their changes the company could make which would make you stay? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I personally think it has gone beyond hope there are things coming up that I don't really want to be around for. However it is a company that is virtually impossible to get the sack from it's just becoming very difficult to manage a very demoralised set of staff.0

How much do you trust these two others, and how much do you know about their work to be able judge how reliably they will be able to give you work? Unless the answers are very positive, I think you would be better seeking a permanent job related to your current role; one where you can use your operational knowledge but don't have to carry the full responsibility. It does sound like you need a bit of a break from the stress. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
