Hay fever or something else?

Actually as I was writing this I think its something else.
4 years ago I had my earwax cleaned (hadn't done it in years) then it started off constant ear irritation though I assume more my fault as whenever it was itchy I scraped the inside of my ear with pinkie
That property was a town centre flat so nowhere near grass/plants
Then I moved to a property next to a school with a large field and had a small front and back garden and had almost permanent problems the whole year I lived there.
Then I moved to a flat which had playing fields in front with grass that hadn't been cut in a long time (Im talking almost as tall as me) had contstant ear problems (and itching) all the time
Since the grass was cut just after I moved in I have less and less problems so its now and again but it does flare up now and again.
I was visiting parents for a few days that live in a village, came back and my ears were a bit tight/sore again but they also have a dog so it could be that (though every block of flats I have lived in last 6 years has had at least 1 person who owned a dog so could be that)
I also thought it could be some form of allergy to something like bedsheets as the only other times I get problems is when I have been away from home for a few days and come home but again when I go away I stay in homes with no gardens which leads me back to hay fever again.
Not looking for medical advice but trying to work out if its for reasons like bed sheets, washing powder, clothes I wear so I can adjust my lifestyle around it.

If antihistamine tablets stop it, it's likely to be an allergy.
If they don't, it possibly isn't.
What does your GP say?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Have you changed you washing powder at home? if you haven't then it's not that.
Have you bought new bed sheets recently, even if you have it would be the washing powder that you were allergic too not the sheets, I would imagine.
Try a course of hay fever tablets. You can get a box for about £1 from Wilkinsons, Home Bargains, Aldi or any of the main supermarkets.0 -
Look up "otitis externa".
Do you go swimming at all? That's what happened to me, and now I use Blu Tac as earplugs when swimming and in the shower lol, really I do. No further problems.
I take a non drowsy one a day anti histamine from May to October aswell.0 -
Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
