I recently bought a Soupmaker for quick and easy weekend lunches but the recipe book which came with it only has a couple of recipes which appeal. As the technique is a little different to making soup in a pan I wondered if anyone had any tried and tested recipes to share.
I know that some people think soupmakers are a waste of money, but as I have fibromyalgia and find standing at a stove for any length of time challenging this is a godsend for me in terms of being able to feed my family healthy home made meals when my strength isn't great. If we could keep the thread to recipes, rather than a discussion about how easy it is to make soup the traditional way, that would be really helpful.

I don't know how a soup maker differs from cooking on a hob, wouldn't most recipes be adaptable?
There is this: http://scottishmum.com/soup-maker-recipes/ and loads more if you google soup maker recipes

My sis in law swears by hers. She throws anything in it with stock, seasonings etc.
Then blends if she fancies something smooth. Could you try a few favourites of the family in it to see how it turns out.
Cauliflower n cheese is my current favourite would it not lend itself to the maker?
Hopefully someone more versed will pop along and I'm sure there's a thread on it somewhere x0 -
I'm just away to make carrot and orange soup in mine.
I can't give you weights I'm afraid but what I did when I made my first soup out the book with the soup maker was weighed the food suggested and then measured this into our cereal bowls. So now I use approx 1 and a half cereal bowls of food and top up with just under a litre of stock - it means I can make soup with whatever is in the fridge.
Our soup maker makes 1.6l (if that helps)
Carrot and orange soup
1 diced onion (I'm Scottish so this is pretty much a staple in my soups)
Chopped carrots - 4 or 5 (approx 600g I think - or 1.5 cereal bowls)
Juice and zest of orange
Veg stock (just under a litre or up to the max on the soup maker)
Bit of pepper - don't usually need salt as the stock can be salty but once it's made taste & add if necessary
Set to creamed soup & start
Incidentally, I would also recommend Scottish Mum's soup book as advised by Petula (I got it on Amazon)
Must go now - soup is calling

Thanks for that site, I've bookmarked it to have a good look!
I bought a soup maker a few weeks ago when they were reduced to a good price, the idea is for eating healthily as I don't love salads but could easily eat soup for lunches!
So far I've just made a throw whatever veg needs using in soups with no recipe.0 -
I know that this is slightly off topic (forgive me) but I have ME/CFS (and sometimes fibromyalgic pain) and can't stand in the kitchen very long either (we eat a lot of baked potatoes in this house!) but I've now got a high kitchen stool to sit on when I'm chopping, washing dishes, etc. Doesn't take the problem away entirely (of course) and I still am time limited in the kitchen, but it does help. (Just in case it's not been suggested to you; sorry if it's blindingly obvious - it wasn't to me!)0

I've bookmarked it too - even though I don't have a soupmaker! It's because there are some nice low-carb recipes on there too!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
