Spares for appliances

I don’t work for this company, nor am I associated with them so I hope this won’t be reported as spam. I just want to flag them up and recommend them to other MSE-ers as they’ve saved me a lot of money and hassle and think other people might find likewise.
The hose on my ancient Dyson vacuum cleaner split at the beginning of this week. Google told me I could pay between £50 - £150 (depending on who I chose) for someone to look at it. And then pay more for any parts that might be needed. And then pay VAT. I like my Dyson and can’t afford another one but it looked like I would be paying out a lot of money just to fix the old one.
Another Google turned up a US YouTube video that explained how easy it is to replace the hose. Yet another Google turned up this place in the UK http://www.appliancespareswarehouse.co.uk where I bought a Dyson-compatible hose for £11.49 plus postage. Result!
I kept browsing the Aladdin’s cave – sorry site - they seem to have everything to revive appliances that have got plenty of life in them for want of a spare part. Or just fix things that are a nuisance, like my John Lewis own-brand dishwasher which is a pain to use because the rollers on the bottom drawer are broken so the drawer sometimes slips off the track and bumps into the rotating washer. I couldn’t believe that Appliance Spares Warehouse stocks things for own-brand appliances too - they even let you check whether or not the part will be compatible by asking you to type in the appliance’s model number. (I got stuck there as I couldn’t find the manual (chucked long ago) …but blow-me-down, the site tells you where to look on the machine.
I rang the company to amend the order but the lovely person I spoke to explained she couldn’t change the order but she could cancel it / refund and I could place another order to include the additional bits. Yes please! She emailed within minutes to confirm the cancellation and refund, and I did another order.
All this took just 20 minutes - from googling YouTube, to finding the site, to me messing around with my order. The spares arrived yesterday and now I have a lovely Dyson in perfect working order (I’ve given the filter a good clean in the meantime), and a dishwasher that is hassle-free.
I really recommend Appliance Spares Warehouse – their site and prices and customer service are excellent and they’ve saved me a packet of money.
