Train from Newcastle to Berwick on tweed

Im wanting to travel on a Saturday morning to Berwick upon tweed from Newcastle. I've only use trains twice before but this journey they are having a bus replacement so takes an hour longer than it should.
Now they are wanting to charge me 26 quid for the journey which would be around £10 -15 on the Friday after 5pm. I don't understand how they can charge more for a service that is not a train service
Can I get some money back in anyway.

Its supply and demand, they can charge what they like, its up to you if you want to pay it or find alternative transport.

Advance fares are not available for travel entirely on rail replacement buses, which is why no cheap fares are available on the RRB.0
