The big tubs, of Celebrations, Heroes, Quality Street & Roses, are on promotion in Asda!
I have started stocking up...

Official MoneySavingExpert insert Tue 13 Sep: If you’re looking to stock up for Christmas, or maybe even Halloween, there are currently deals on larger tubs of chocolates and sweets in some supermarkets including Quality Street (756g), Cadbury Roses (729g), Celebrations (750g), Cadbury Heroes (695g) and Haribo (720g). As well as the £4 deal at Asda, you can get two of these tubs at Tesco for £7 from Wed 14 Sep until Tue 20 Sep online and in store – the equivalent of £3.50 per tub (norm £5 each). For online orders, the latest delivery date is Tue 20 Sep).

Big thanks to DigForVictory and lesleyb for the original spots!

I see Asda have their Christmas baking things in already - cake cases, sprinkles, toppers etc.

It would appear that Roses have a shorter "lifespan" than Quality Street, (amongst the medical community, at least) but followup research on Heroes & Celebrations has not been reported.

The usual festive mirth by those working the Christmas Day shift :D

On a serious note, I don't think our kids stand a chance if they are bombarded with cheap sweeties for 4 months of the year.

Noticed M&S have half price chocolates and biscuits but dates up Jan 17 so not ideal in terms of gifts.

Just check the dates if planning for Christmas.

Depending on where you are in the country I'd guess they are for Eid this weekend.

  • Yes, it'd Eid Ul-Adha today - Eid Mubarak to all concerned & safe Hajj likewise.
The promotions on oil & rice (& the increased choice of lassi, yum!) fit with Eid but the chocolates are alongside blatantly Christmas stuff.
Looking distinctly depleted yesterday - the pallets were loaded to around 5' & on Sunday were barely 2' - must ask if they plan to restock At That Price...

why stock up now? Why not wait until the inevitable 2 for £7 or 3 for £10 deals?
