Green tea allergy?

Hi Everyone


Always had the Asda own green tea, normally 3 drinks in the morning at work Monday-Friday, the last week I have noticed that about 1 hour after these drinks my hands have gone red and very itchy and each day its getting worse, I noticed this does not happen on the weekend.


I would try and get an appointment at the doctors but very hard to get booked in, if you call on a Saturday they seem to get booked within seconds.

Have they changed the ingredients recently?

Might be worth trying another brand to see if it's the tea or just that make of tea.
Clippers do a good one. I'd think Twinings do a green tea too.

thanks, yea I bought twinnings on offer once but didn't think they tasted as good, preferred the taste of asda and cheaper I have Clippers once and liked that but it was the actually tea leaves which I had to use my tea strainer and you got the off loose leave, will look at bagged ones.

It's possible to become allergic to anything, even things you already use.

If you're aware of the trigger then the answer is to avoid it. There's little point in seeing your doctor, all they can do is tell you to avoid it and take antihistamines if it occurs again (cheaper to buy yourself).

It might not be the tea, but rather the bag that you're allergic to.

I cannot drink Green Tea, I get really bad stomach ache.
