Halifax Porting Motgage - new job

I have a Halifax Mortgage which I would like to 'port' as I would like to borrow more and move home.
Sounds easy enough but I have just got a new job and have been out of work for the last 4 months after being made redundant.
My Partner will be able to show the 3 months payslips and bank statements, but I will only be able to show 1 payslip.
We have never missed a payment on our mortgage and are able to afford the the amount we are asking to borrow, and we both have fair to good credit ratings.
I realise that lenders like to see a stable job history and 3 payslips, but do you think Halifax will look kindly on us as we are an existing customer with no missed payments? Or is it a simple black and white piece of Halifax policy that they will not lend to people in this situation?
Any advise is much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks KingStreet,
Is there any particular reason why you don't foresee any issues?
Do they mainly base a decision on Credit rating or payment history?
Thanks again,0 -
I expect there will be enough positives in your application to outweigh the negative.
Halifax will lend to someone who hasn't even started a job if they have a written offer and a confirmed start date.
Therefore your situation will not cause an issue, as stated.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
