redundancy help needed.

Hi,
about 3 weeks ago i was made redundant. The company was forced by inland rev to wind up. I literally went into work and was made redundant and that was it!
I filled in forms to get back my missing wages etc that the insolvency company gave me and heard nothing. Found out today my collegues have had their money so i called the insolvency people and was told they didn't get my details when all the paperwork was sent over to them. They got my details about 2 weeks ago but are STILL waiting for my employer to give them my start date so they can pay me. So basically unless my crap employer (who ended up winding up as they are completely incapable of sorting things ) contacts them i dont get a penny!
Its a joke. surely this isnt right? i seem to be the loser in all of this. i haven't even been told the company was bought last week!
I basically don't seem to exsist!
i feel i should get some kind of compensation for just losing my job without warning. I should get my wages regardless that my employer hasnt responded.
anyone else been in this situation? or anyone able to give me any advice?
thank you
Is there anything i can do?

How long had you worked for the employer? Do you have an offer letter from them? Do you have any payslips from the early time you were with them? Do you have bank statements showing payments from them since you began? Do you have P60s from the early time with them?0

Calm down ...... they want to know when you started so they can pay you the right amount of "compensation" - redundancy pay - as this depends on how long you've worked for them.
As Little Voice suggests .... do you have a letter confirming when you started with the Company? Do you have all your payslips back to day one? You don't need send all of them, but send the first payslip you had - and the letter confirming the start date.
Is there anything else that will prove when you started?
I agree - you shouldn't have to do this, but the company has gone bust and - perhaps understandably - the people who know about this stuff may have lost their jobs too. Or they may be doing other work that the Receiver has asked them to do.
See what you have and see if they will accept it as proof of when you started.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Hi thank you for all your help everyone.
Think i didn't explain clearly! They cant have confirmation when i started from myself they have to get it from the company director ONLY (have no idea why guess incase i made up a start date?!) Thats why im sooo miffed! i mean it seems like i will only get my pay IF he responds to them (this is the guy that caused the company to fold as he couldn't even get his tax returns in!- i think my chances are slim!) surely they can do something else if he dosn't reply soon?
40something- i will call them in the morning as cant seem to get in contact with citizens advice. maybe get some answers to the million questions i have swimming around in my head!0 -
If the company was bought last week, then the records would be there. The records do not belong to the individual director, they belong to the company.
It's not just a case of "your word" as it were but your being able to produce the written evidence.
Are they really saying that if the company director had popped his clogs there would be no way of working out what the company owed you? I would not accept that.
Good luck in getting your dues.0 -
Hi Littlevoice, thats what i thought but the lady was quite abrupt from the insolvency pay office when i offered to send evidence of when i started she insisted that the director needed to send this to them NOT me!when i questioned what would happen if they didnt get it, she said she couldn't comment, and couldn't say if i would or wouldn't get anything.
I assume they have some kind of structure in place like you say what if he had died!? i guess i will just have to be patient. i will give them a call tomorrow in the hope thay may have an update or that i may get someone that can maybe give me more of an idea what may happen. im sooo stressed out! just feel a bit singled out as all other 5 girls including one who left before redunandancy who was owed money seem to be getting their money!!0 -

Is this just a firm of insolvency practitioners - perhaps a division of a chartered accountancy practice? Has there been a meeting of creditors of which you have received notice? Did the others receive a notice of such a meeting?
I also wondered whether the company was or is in administration?0
