Good afternoon
I've managed after a bit of a struggle to get my elderly mothers house rebanded from a D to a C.
I now know the local council are going to offer a rebate back to 1993 but my question is -
Does anyone know how I can find previous years council tax charges (as far back as possible) to determine if the amount the council offer is correct?

They may be on the council's website. No doubt the council will have them on their intranet, but I doubt they would have the time to give you every year's charge for 22 years, if you phoned up and asked for them.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Hi lincroft1710
I've tried searching on the internet & the council concerned website but can't seem to find anything. I'm hoping there is an historic list somewhere but it's how to access it???0 -
Try calling and asking, I am sure that they will be able to tell you the bands charge for each year.
If that doesnt work you could make a freedom of information request for the information

I'm not sure a FOI request is appropriate as the information has been in the public domain.
Suddenly occurred to me that the CT charges are often published in local papers, you may be able to find these in archived editions published early/mid March. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
