Hi all,
We bought a leasehold property a couple of years ago and during the sale we were sent a copy of the lease that has the names of the previous owners on it.
Now we need to remortgage the mortgage company are asking for a copy of our lease.
Is this one OK? Do they not reproduce a new copy with our names on it?

When the property is sold the tenant's interest in the original lease is assigned so you become the tenants - the lease itself is always the original deed and described by reference to the original parties e.g. the Lease between the Trustees of Ebeneezer McLandowner and Alfred Scratchit dated 18 July 1835 or whatever, the lease itself doesn't get amended - your title is based on the pile of Assignments from then to now, or these days the Land Registry details confirming you are registered as the current leaseholder.0
