Hi, Just a quick query. Does anybody know if I am paying Apex £2 a month, but the debt is so old that it has gone off my credit profile, do I still need to carry on paying it?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Yes, debt still exists.

Was there ever a 6-year period when you did not pay?0

Hi there,
Yes the debt still exists even if it is no longer on your credit file. Assuming this was some type of credit debt and there has never been a 6 year period of time with no payments then I am afraid the debt is still enforceable in the county court and you could receive a CCJ.
A CCJ would show for 6 years from the date of judgement.

no, there wasnt.
Wasn't what, a period of 6 years without payment ?
in that case you cant claim it was statute barred.
What you can do, if it was a consumer credit act related debt, is send a CCA request to the collection company, are you familiar with CCA requests and what they are ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Probably still valid then. Maybe post again if this is part of a bigger picture as it doesn't sound like £2 per month is going to clear things very quickly.0

Hi check1986
There's probably a lot more advice that you can be offered here, even if these debts can still be pursued. If that sounds useful, then why not complete a Statement of Affairs (also known as an SoA, see link below) and post it here so we can have a fuller picture of the situation, including the size of these old debts:
