My mortgage comes to an end this October. I still have a sizeable balance outstanding and needed a new mortgage. The problem is I have turned 65 and my wife is 62. We don't have enough in the way of pensions but have an interest in a business which we intend to continue to run for the foreseeable future and this provides us with an income. We do have good collateral in the property.
We tried several building societies and brokers and was refused by all of them. Being a member of Which for several years, I approached their mortgage advisory service. To cut a long story short, they worked very hard for us and eventually found a BS willing to offer us a mortgage at a reasonable rate.
Our new mortgage completes this week.
If anyone is in a similar position to us, try Which. In fact if anyone is struggling to find a mortgage, try Which.
