Second job

I am currently looking for a part time second job to supplement my existing income, as my main job is no longer enough. I work in the public sector and there is little chance of promotion or a pay rise. Ideally I want something at the weekend and maybe a weekday evening, around 8 hours a week. Where are the best places to look for weekend jobs? I don't seem to have much luck, and I don't have any experience in retail, bar and restaurant work. I thought about care work as I did some of that 10 years ago, but again my experiences are limited. Any suggestions? Thanks

Although you have no experience of retail, I would have thought that would be area you are most likely to find anything. Care work would be a possibility. Check with care agencies in your area. You will probably have more experience than many who end up working in that sector.
You will need to get approval from your current employer before taking on other work.

I used to work in my local corner shop for 11.5 hours per week. I had no experience when I started and got the job by going in, asking if any jobs were available and leaving my CV. I did 1 evening and 2 weekend shifts per week, that was in addition to a full-time office job.
