The Nat West account (which is a select platinum account?) is also poor value. Not as high an interest rate as the Halifax but still around 23% as far as I can see including the fees etc. These packaged accounts are rarely good value. Only exception is Santander 123 If you have savings and have enough cashback on utility bills to cover the fee. Same with all the insurance products. Stick £50 in an emergency fund every month and you will have enough to service the car or replace white goods. You can get the £50 covered just by the fees you are paying to the banks for the perks you probably don't use (travel insurance, foreign currency etc etc which can all be purchased cheaper elsewhere anyway.)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I've just come across my old post - I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your advice. Unfortunately, I was in the midst of a bad bout of depression which I'm only really coming out of now. I will look at all your suggestions as I'm trying to get back on my feet. - thank you0

Good luck LL - I'd suggest a new SOA using the link provided earlier on in the thread would be a great place to start.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
