I am being made redundant and will get £90,000 on leaving.
But I will be taxed £28,000.
if I leave in April in the new tax year and don't work that year
How much tax back would I get

you will probably get a better answer in the Redundancy & Redundancy Planning section of the forums.0

I would have thought if you were being made redundant it would be sooner rather then later it is unlikely they will carry on paying you for another 6 months just so you can pay less tax, the chances are they are wanting to save money if they are paying you to go.0

You will still qualify for contributions based job seekers, if you claim it for 6 months and dont earn anything then just look at your tax code and work it out. Use your money wisely, 3 yrs on I have the same cash in the bank as redundancy day 1, but I own outright a small house I let out. Not bad for 3 yrs, and Yes I took the JSA (horrible experience) and took an enterprise allowance grant for starting my own business. All those years of paying in, I felt I deserved it!Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

If you have a personal pension, you could pay some of the monies into it. That should save you some tax. Good luck!0
