Advantis debt letter with no explanation

Hi all,
After some advice if possible...
My partner has just received a rather odd letter from Advantis looking to collect £84.46 on behalf of Cabot Financial (Europe) Ltd. The problem is, we have absolutely no idea what it's regarding. As far as we are aware, there are no outstanding bills and we've not been contacted from any companies regarding outstanding monies. All a bit bizarre....
The only letter like this we've ever had in the past (not from Advantis or Cabot Financial) was related to UKPC who tried to collect money regarding us parking in our own space with a permit showing (but he didn't look closely enough...you could even see it on the photos, but the appeal still failed somehow!).
Do we contact advantis or cabot to get confirmation of what the debt is, or just ignore this?
Thanks in advance.
Jon

Hi,
First response to any collection company writing to you about a debt is always the "provit" letter available from the stickies at the top of the forum.
