When does a cooling off period start

As I understand it if I buy online, with a credit card, I have a cooling off period of 14 day during which I can back out of the contract. Assuming of course that the product is in the same condition I received it. Seals unbroken, in original packaging and so forth
If I am correct when does that cooling off period start:
from the day the order was accepted - email confirmation
if been delivered to a High Street store, the day it reaches the store and I receive an email/text confirmation that it has arrived, or finally
the day I pick it up, text received Monday, picked up on Thursday?
