Unbelievably incompetent RBOS (long)

Last year, with the help of the MSE and CCCS my OH and I got our huge debt under control.
Part of the solution was selling a property we rented to students which was mortgaged with RBOS.:( ...may their profits go into freefall.
So, in Jan 07 the house was sold and RBOS made sure they claimed back every penny they were owed before they would allow us to complete the sale. Turns out (following a phone call from CCCS to RBOS Solicitors) that they had no legal authority to deduct the money as we had no agreement to let them do so.
CCCS advised us to take the matter further and claim the money back but we were so tired of fighting, we let it go.
In March, we successfully claimed back £904 bank charges on one of our accounts.
In June, I started another claim on my personal account. Just made it before the OFT statement came out. By September, had heard nothing. Emailed RBOS and was told money (£464) had been credited to my account on Sept 4.
I emailed back and said ...I don't think so, that account is closed and has been since last year.
Reply....That account is open with a debit balance of £1000+
Nearly had a heart attack.
Phoned b****** RBOS solicitors. He confirmed everything had been cleared and there should be zero balances on all accounts.
Said he would phone bank and get back to me.
Phoned back and told me...wait for it...the RBOS had NEGLECTED to pay off the outstanding balances on our accounts when they stole our £17000 extra money on top of the mortgage balance due
How on earth due these clowns stay in business? I want revenge  I want blood on the carpet. I am so mad I could curse them for eternity.
