Lost mortgage deed for completion

Options
I should be completing on a new build flat within 3 weeks or so. I received a mortgage deed in the post from my solicitor when I originally applied for the mortgage last year, which I didn't get round to signing.

I am now on my third offer, Halifax basically have renewed it a few times (due to all the delays) and this new offer was made at a different address to the original application. This was because my home at the original application time was sold and I am now in rental.

I received a PDF copy of the new offer from my broker, but never got one in the post. My solicitor is perfectly happy with the PDF copy although I have asked the broker twice to ensure Halifax sends a paper copy to my solicitor.

Whilst the original mortgage deed to sign is definitely lost, I've realised that wouldn't it be useless now as it's from an old offer with an out of date residential address for me? And my solicitor still doesn't seem to have received the new offer in paper form, which presumably would have the new mortgage deed for me to sign. I can't ask my broker again, he keeps saying he has asked Halifax to send it.

So how do I get a copy of this deed!? And would it be imperative that this one is signed, is the original with my old contact address on invalid? As the solicitor has said they'll see if there is a copy on record they can email to me to sign.

Probably worrying about little but this has been a massive slog and I don't want to be relying on a broker who isn't pushing enough to get this mortgage deed (and paper offer) through, and I'd ask Halifax myself but they don't like talking to me directly.

The solicitor produces the mortgage deed - they can send you another one.

But the deed comes from the mortgage lender and comes with the version of my mortgage offer that goes to my solicitor, doesn't it? The solicitor doesn't create the document as far as I understand.

At most they might send a blank version of their standard deed, but the Halifax won't have enough information to produce a complete document. It's the solicitor who fills in the blanks, and they can do that from an electronic version of the blank deed, or any other spare copy.
