Would you need to register self employed if you're just doing surveys? I'm registering to do ironing soon anyway but it came up in discussion.

I think you do, unless you are not a tax payer. I don't think HMRC ever checks, but just in case I am planning to register this month. I think the deadline for payments received in the 15/16 tax year is beginning of October 16. I also think they expect you to register within 3 months of starting to earn money.0

The letter from HMRC says the deadline is 31st October 2016 if you use paper. It says if you file online the deadline is 31st January 2017 or 3 months after the date of the letter if that's later).0
