edited 1 September 2016 at 2:34PM in It's gone, but was it any good?
My wife was hinting at one of these for an anniversary gift as apparently they are the perfect material for whisking egg whites for meringues, macaroons etc.

Harrods sell the 20cm version for £79.
These 30cm versions are usually around £140-160 online.

The 30cm is currently selling on Amazon at £68 with 11 currently remaining.

Thought it might be an error at first so ordered and waited until it arrived before posting, but mine has just arrived today exactly as described, great quality and very heavy.

Could be a good investment for all you serious chef types out there!

EDIT: For some inexplicable reason not mentioned anywhere in the sticky, amazon referral URL's appear not to be allowed on MSE, so search the site in question for "M'Passion 2191.30" to get to the item

    They look very nice, but i think i'd be more inclined to get a pyrex dish in the £shop.

    Me too, but apparently there are all sorts of reasons (apparently due to chemical reactions, ions etc.) as to why copper is the perfect material to use.

    That said, to a layman like me I think that the eggs she's previously whipped up in the glass and steel bowls taste perfectly good! :)

    My reasons for buying one are three fold:

    1: Because she really wanted one but she couldn't justify the cost.
    2: It is our copper (7th) wedding anniversary on Monday so it seemed an ideal gift.
    3: She still thinks it's £150! :money::D

  • Thanks OP. After recently using copper pans and bowls on holiday, I now really want my own set, so this might be my been-working-really-hard-just-lately treat to myself :)

    For any other copper fans, Sainsburys have a nice range in store as well, that's very reasonably priced.

    Your wife is so lucky, my other half bought me a copper bin from Aldi the other week for our 7th anniversary https://www.aldi.co.uk/premium-soft-close-3l-bathroom-bin/p/072057054007700. To be fair to him I did ask for it :rotfl:

    My father in law bought me one of those way back in the seventies and it's still going strong. They are excellent when whisking egg whites. They peak up very quickly.
