Anyone work for G4S as cashier ?

Hi I have been invited to an assessment centre for a cashier role for G4S in Glasgow.
Has anyone attended one before who could tell me what's involved, and the type of questions I should prepare for.
Also if anyone has worked as cashier, could you describe an average day as the job description for the one advertised was quite vague. Also are they a good company to work for.

Thankyou

Never been to an assessment centre with this lot, but have been through a competency based interview with 2 people interviewing in 2013 when I had interview as call handler. This interview would have required the STAR technique from memory if it helps.

While I joke I never look at what's coming you can ask for confirmation, a breakdown of the day. I attended similar organisation again very recently and 2 days before we were told what to expect right down to number of co candidates who would be attending, an intro to the role and company, icebreaker, testing of literacy and customer service skills on paper, group exercise, ID checking followed by individual interviews in the same room. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by people in the same boat so you lose the nerves pretty quick.

Good luck - an assessment centre can be better then the lone interview, it's never as worse as it sounds.
  • Thank you so much for your reply. Just trying to be prepared - the very mention of assessment makes me want to run for the hills. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that 😄 To be fair, the jobs not rocket science if they're only paying about £8 an hour, so how hard can it be - right 😂
