Getting a 16-25 Railcard with e-careers?

Has anyone managed to do this?

I recently got an e-careers deal, and this got me an NUS card. I took a look at the 16-25 railcard site, mine recently expired, and you can extend it as a mature student (I'm over 25) but the requirements are:
To be attending a recognised college or university, for over 15 hours a week, at least 20 weeks a year. Unfortunately, Open University, distance learning and part-time courses do not qualify.
To have the mature student section of the 16-25 Railcard application form completed by your College or University.
Have an NUS card or College/University photocard as proof of identity.

I have the NUS card. I'm not sure about getting e-careers to complete the mature section of the application? Has anyone ever tried it/had success with it?

I just realised it says distance learning doesn't qualify.. but any luck?
