Mortgage broker charges

We had a visit from a mortgage broker last night who after discussing our requirements for remortgaging said he charged a one off lifetime fee of £1900. For this he'd arrange our mortgage and call back every couple of years to help us remortgage with no extra fees. Is this normal? Thanks.

1900 sounds pretty high to be fair, especially if you have a fairly straightforward case.0

£1900 is ridiculously high unless you are a mega complicated case.
I dont agree with lifetime fees, what happens if he moves firms, the firm closes/gets bought out? If the broker is a one man band, what happens if they become ill/retire?
Pay for the job today, if you need/want him down the line, pay for him again at that point.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
