Rentalcars.com & Hertz car rental

I have rented a car from Hertz via Rentalcars.com website
It supposed to be £32 in total.
RentalCars has charged me £32 and the next day Hertz has charged me £21.

How come?

Just a little short on detail there, JB.

Could it be because you returned it with less fuel than you should've done?
Did you return the car late?

That's just a couple of ideas - there are more guesses that could be made.

I really think your only option is to ask Hertz why they have charged the £21. They're the only people that know the answer to your question.

Has this thread got anything to do with public transport or cycling?

I am going to call them tomorrow.
The car has been returned few hours before the time with a full tank no other issues.
Hertz guy to whom I have handed over car keys hasn't even checked the car, because he was too busy with parking other cars.

    Why do people do that?

Don't you understand it is in your interests to ensure the car is checked over upon return, and obtain a signed inspection report showing that there is no damage, if that's appropriate.

By not getting that report you have left yourself wide open to claims of 'it was returned damaged', etc.

    This is ridiculous.
I am not going to spend 1.5h to check in and check out a damn car.
I rented it for one day.
I waited 20min at the desk then the guy was stressing me up, because apparently he was behind with everything else.
At the parking I was looking for the Turkish man another 15min.
When I arrived there was no one there, but after some investigation I found out that he is re-parking other cars somewhere else.
This is a !!!! service, I am not going to use it again, I use public transport.

    That's ok - you're welcome.
  • It turned out that this £21 is for leaving car without a full tank.

I have explained to the man over the phone that this car has an issue with indicating fuel level.
After I refilled the tank to the top - the pump refused.
The indicator however was still showing 9/10.

You have to wait or I think even drive this Vauxhall to update to 10/10. In my case it changed to 10/10 after a mile or so of driving, before I arrived at City Airport.

I have provided receipts and expecting a refund.
    Best regards,

Unfortunately by not hanging around you have opened yourself upto that claim. I of course appreciate any delay, my only suggestion would be to avoid Hertz in the future and try a company with better Customer service. Good luck claiming the money back.
