I think a lot of people kill their non-stick frying pans by over-heating them. I never use more than about half-heat on mine and they last donkeys

Slightly off topic on this I thought I would share a MS tip for stacking frying pans, etc. Lakeland sell the felted mats cut to size and at vast expense. I found some padded table cover fabric at a CS and made my own for pence and they work just as well by stopping scratching. I see from the link they are really quite affordable now, but still a lot more than my own system: http://www.lakeland.co.uk/22314/3-Anti-Scratch-Kitchen-Pan-Protectors---Blue

    Got similar from £1 shop.

And I'm just back from from there with one in my rucksack, so thanks PP :)

I ventured into the brand new Wilko first, btw, and won't be bothering with that again ...

I recently bought a Prestige Stone Quartz frying pan and it's brilliant. Obviously I don't yet know how well it will last but I have high hopes!
  • I've had a Sainsbury one for about 4 yrs now and it's still as good as new and has had regular use, at least 3 or 4 times per week.
